Oltre la Rampa_Se un Gradino Diventa l’Orizzonte del Mondo

C’è un momento preciso, nel silenzio di una strada affollata, in cui il mondo si divide in due. Non è una divisione fatta di confini geografici o di lingue diverse, ma di pochi centimetri di cemento. È quel momento in cui lo sguardo di un uomo incontra una barriera architettonica. In quel frammento di secondo, il gradino smette di essere un elemento urbanistico, ma diventa una “barriera totalizzante“.

La disabilità non è un’interruzione dell’essere, ma un modo differente di abitare il mondo che attende solo di essere ascoltato. È un insieme di prospettive preziose che rischiano di restare invisibili se soffocate dal silenzio di un’architettura sorda. Quando ignoriamo una barriera, non stiamo solo lasciando indietro una persona, stiamo rinunciando a una parte della nostra stessa umanità e in quella capacità di guardare oltre l’ovvio, per scoprire la bellezza dove gli altri vedono solo un limite.

Il video “Oltre la rampa” nasce da qui: Dalla necessità di filmare non solo l’ostacolo fisico, ma il peso invisibile che esso esercita sull’anima e sulla dignità di una persona. Attraverso l’obiettivo, abbiamo seguito Claudio Roberti. Claudio non è solo il protagonista del video; E’ un Sociologo che vive sulla propria pelle la teoria dello spazio negato. Mentre la camera indugia su quella barriera non accessibile, il video racconta una verità cruda: Una rampa mancante non impedisce solo il passaggio di una carrozzina, ma arresta il flusso di una vita sociale. Insieme a  Vitoantonio Gentile (L’uomo che conduce la carrozzina), abbiamo voluto che ogni fotogramma trasmettesse l’idea di “Totalità“. Quando un disabile trova la strada sbarrata, non è solo “fermato”; è escluso dalla bellezza, dal lavoro, dall’incontro. È una democrazia che si interrompe bruscamente davanti a un marciapiede troppo alto. Il cuore del nostro racconto filmico è la riflessione sulla barriera come atto di negazione dell’identità. Se l’architettura non accoglie, essa respinge. E se respinge, comunica un messaggio devastante “Tu non appartieni a questo spazio!”

Il video non cerca di mettere in evidenza il pietismo, ma consapevolezza. La narrazione inclusiva che abbiamo costruito che e’ stata premiata recentemente con il Premio Comunicazione sulla Disabilità 2025 – Regione Campania , serve a ricordare che l’inclusione non è un atto di gentilezza, ma un atto di giustizia!

Beyond the Ramp “When a Step Becomes the World’s Horizon”

There’s a precise moment, in the silence of a crowded street, when the world splits in two. It’s not a division made up of geographical borders or different languages, but of a few centimeters of concrete. It’s that moment when a man’s gaze encounters an architectural barrier. In that split second, the step ceases to be an urban feature, but becomes a “totalizing barrier.”

Disability isn’t an interruption of being, but a different way of inhabiting the world, waiting only to be heard. It’s a set of precious perspectives that risk remaining invisible if suffocated by the silence of deaf architecture. When we ignore a barrier, we’re not just leaving someone behind, we’re giving up a part of our own humanity and that ability to look beyond the obvious, to discover beauty where others see only a limitation.

The video “Beyond the Ramp” was born from this: from the need to film not only the physical obstacle, but the invisible burden it exerts on a person’s soul and dignity. Through the lens, we followed Claudio Roberti. Claudio isn’t just the protagonist of the video; he’s a sociologist who experiences the theory of denied space firsthand. As the camera lingers on that inaccessible barrier, the video reveals a stark truth: A missing ramp doesn’t just impede the passage of a wheelchair, it also halts the flow of social life. Together with Vitoantonio Gentile (The Man Who Drives a Wheelchair), we wanted every frame to convey the idea of ​​”Totality.” When a disabled person finds the road blocked, they aren’t just “stopped”; they’re excluded from beauty, from work, from encounters. It’s a democracy that comes to an abrupt end when faced with a sidewalk that’s too high. The heart of our filmic narrative is the reflection on the barrier as an act of denial of identity. If architecture doesn’t welcome, it rejects. And if it rejects, it communicates a devastating message: “You don’t belong here!”

The video doesn’t seek to highlight pity, but awareness. The inclusive narrative we have built, recently awarded the 2025 Disability Communication Award – Campania Region, serves as a reminder that inclusion is not an act of kindness, but an act of justice!
